My introduction

My name is Stephen, a professional driving instructor with over 2 decades of experience helping learners gain confidence behind the wheel. I currently specialise in automatic driving lessons, having previously taught manual driving for ten years.    

Why do I love being a driving instructor?

I genuinely enjoy the flexibility and freedom that comes with my role. Being outdoors and meeting people from all walks of life makes every day unique and fulfilling.   

Test day tips

If you think you’ve made a mistake during your test, don’t dwell on it. Often, what feels like a mistake isn’t as bad as you think. Stay calm, focus on what’s ahead, and carry on.  

My rewarding moment

One of the highlights of my career has been helping people with disabilities achieve their goal of passing the driving test. Their determination and success inspire me and remind me why I love my work.   

My advice for new learners

Consistency is key—regular lessons help you build momentum and retain what you’ve learned. Avoid stopping and starting your lessons too frequently; it will make your progress smoother and faster.
