Learning to drive is a highly individual journey—there’s no set timescale. Don’t put pressure on yourself to pass before you’re ready. Take your time and focus on building confidence. 

The single most important advice I’d give pupils on their driving test day is don’t dwell on mistakes. If you think you’ve done something wrong, put it behind you and carry on—it may not be as bad as you think.  

Additionally, try to stay calm. Use any nerves you feel to stay focused, but don’t let them overwhelm you. Trust in the skills you’ve developed during your lessons.   

For me, every time a pupil passes their test, it is a standout moment. Seeing all their hard work pay off and witnessing their joy makes everything worthwhile.
